Teachers' notes
A change from the usual 'draw a storyboard of the development of a waterfall' lesson!
The motivation behind this mini-site is to provide students with the opportunity to take the role of 'tour guide'. They will be interviewed by 'Brian Cascade' the 'Talking Head' for a job as a tour guide in the Niagara Falls area.
The students get to see the main interview questions before the actual interview.
The interview could be done in a variety of ways. Live in the classroom, in front of the class, the teacher or a panel of people. Alternatively students could use recording software such as Audacity to record their interview and then this could be reviewed at a later time.
The learning outcomes will be an understanding of fluvial erosion processes forming erosional landforms (waterfalls, rapids and gorge) as well as the an actual case study of erosional landforms and the possibility of developing tourism, hydro-electricity issues etc.
