Looking for other educators and classes to get involved in a series of 'Geography of COVID-19' lessons
Who fancies getting their students involved in a series of lesson?
I have created a series of three lessons for the final week with my DP2 students. We are going to use Kialo to debate a different thesis statement each lesson:
- The media promotes more fiction than fact about contemporary pandemics
- Pessimistic views towards population and resources are illustrated by contemporary pandemics
- Contemporary pandemic death rates are primarily provoked by social geography
I have created a page of resources for each thesis statement. The idea being that the students engage with the resources and then start to debate using Kialo. Kialo is an interesting platform, with an educational version, that I am starting to use and can see great potential in.
There is a link on each of the geographyalltheway.com pages to allow students (and educators) to join the discussions. If you are an educator keen to get involved - I can 'give you more power' so that you can approve comments and give feedback etc.
Please get in contact if you would like to get involved with your students - it doesn't have to be your DP2s…
