Recipe for revolution:

Ingredients:

People with strong political ideas

Lots of bad government

Substantial economic problems

Bad harvests

Wars

Involvements of countries outside the place where the revolution happening

Divisions among the revolutionaries

Lots of poor, hungry people on the streets of Paris and other cities

Napolean

Method:

Take France and involve it in wars in America. This will bankrupt the country.

Then allow an ineffective monarch to fail to find any new ways to raise money.

Leave for about 6 years to simmer, but add some bad harvests just before the revolution is ready.

After simmering, take the stew and mix in an Estate General. Make sure that the Estates General is a failure and crowds of hungry people attack the Bastille.

You now have a revolution.

As a side dish, you could take portions of strong political ideas, interference from outside countries and disputes between the revolutionaries.

Mix these throughly with a series of wars and you should end up with the Emperor Napoleon.

Allow him to rule for about 15 years.
