"Using YouTube in the Classroom" Tutorial |
Situation |
| You wish to view a YouTube clip but the video hosting service is blocked by your educational establishment. |
Possible Solution One |
Access the YouTube clip from home or somewhere access to the service hasn't been blocked. Use the keepvid.com website to download the YouTube clip so that it can be watched without needed access to YouTube. You need the URL of the video clip. The best place to find and copy this is in the box just to the right of the video clip on YouTube. |

| Paste the URL into the URL box on keepvid.com. |

| You will then be presented with links from which you can download the video clips. Right click on the link and then 'Save Target As' if you are using Internet Explorer or 'Save Link As' if you are using Firefox. |

| Once the clip has downloaded, rename it to something sensible and you are ready to copy it onto a USB Drive (or similar) to be taken to school. The file will be in .mp4 format which should play using most computer video players such as VLC. |
