| GMail is a web-based email application which when integrated into the Google suite of applications becomes a very useful tool. You could just use your GMail account for school related emails or you could migrate all your other email accounts to GMail. When choosing an email address for yourself consider who you maybe contacting! (university applications etc.) |

Google Docs (and Spreadsheets) is a web-based word processor and spreadsheet application offered by Google. You can upload files produced in Microsoft Word and Excel as well as downloading files created in Google Docs as .doc and .xls formats. One of the very useful features of Google Docs is the ability to share documents with other Google account holders and work on items collaboratively. |

With Google Calendar it is possible to have both public and private calendars.
