Using Twitter > Linking a Conference and School

United Nations

I was luck enough to attend the Global Issues Network Conference in Geneva, Switzerland – that ran from Thursday 19th March to Saturday 21st March.  We took 4 students from the International School of Toulouse this year as a sort of recce – hoping to take more next year.

To keep a link between students at the conference and those back in Toulouse and to raise awareness of the project in school – we ‘Twittered’.  By twittering with a certain hashtag – in this case #gin09 – then by using twitter search you can produce a RSS feed for all tweets including that hashtag.  Simply stick the RSS feed into a widget from Widgetbox and add the widget to the homepage of the school intranet – you have a automatically updating link!

Global Issues Conference Geneva 2009 > Anybody Going?

I was just wondering if any Geographers were going to the Global Issues Network Geneva Conference 19-21 March 2009.  It would be great to have a coffee with some fellow Geography teachers – get in touch and we will arrange a time and a place.
